This month we decided to rethink and redesign the Eastern Washington University logo. We were inspired by NFL logos such as the Philadelphia Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals. We wanted to create a more visually dynamic logo while still keeping the original composition of the “EWU” being formed from the shape of the wings.
The goal of this redesign was to give the logo a sense of pride and a fighting spirit. Eastern Washington University has copious amounts of school spirit, and we wanted our logo redesign to reflect that zeal that so many students and alumni feel for their school.
This logo is bold, direct, and striking. It is as visually compelling as it is practical. It can be placed on shirts, hats, mugs, water bottles, helmets, and more while simultaneously maintaining its integrity. We hope you like our rendition of the EWU Eagle and what being an EWU Alumni means to us. Go Eags!
