SLICE ‘N SIP – EPISODE 34

On a drizzly November evening, I eagerly stepped into the warm, cheery foyer of Wooden City Spokane. Wooden City is one of my favorite “special occasion” spots, and today we’re here to celebrate my birthday with a wood-fired slice of ‘za and my Favoriteeee Appetizer. With soaring ceilings, perfect mood lighting, and cozy industrial vibes, the atmosphere is undeniably special. Paired with incredible service and delicious food, it becomes obvious why the place positively bustles with satisfied diners (reservations highly recommended) and friendly staff. Elevated yet approachable, a Wooden City visit always feels like a comforting treat.

We started the meal with their famously fantastic appetizer, the Blistered Hungarian Pepper. My personal favorite. The charred peppers are stuffed with sweet sausage and aged cheddar, swimming in a shockingly delicious pool of chive oil and served with toasted ciabatta. Trust me when I say you’ll want to order extra ciabatta to soak up every last drop of that liquid gold.

Next up we chose the Pepperoni pizza. Red sauce and mozzarella topped with generously layered pepperoni slices, hot peppers, honey, and fresh oregano. All perfectly fired in the blue mosaic-tiled pizza oven that lives in the heart of Wooden City. Deeeelish.

As our night wrapped up, I felt gratitude for another trip around the sun full of blessings and growth (and of course great pizza). So next time you need to treat yourself or a loved one, I’d recommend a journey to Wooden City for good vibes, good people, and good food.

Cheers!
