This past month, Andrea and I had the opportunity to drive to Seattle and visit some amazing clients of ours—Chipper Plumbing and Radiant! While I could write a whole book about the things we did and the food we ate, I’ll stick to what we know best: coffee. ☕
On our 36-hour trip to Seattle, we drank probably 500mg of caffeine each morning. From recommendations by our friends at Chipper, like the iconic Top Pot doughnuts, and a few other stops in between we were well caffeinated, to say the least. ⚡
Apologies to all of our Starbucks lovers though, we decided to skip it.
If you find yourself in downtown Seattle, head over to Top Pot Doughnuts and grab your morning coffee. The vibe is SO cute and quaint, the walls are lined from floor to ceiling with books. Behind the counter, you can see right through to the bakery section where all the magic happens. With our Bavarian cream and pink sprinkle doughnuts in one hand, we ordered our go-to coffees for the other.
“One 20 oz iced quad-shot vanilla latte with whole milk, and a 20 oz. iced white chocolate and caramel americano with cream, please.”
The coffee is selected from around the world and hand-roasted in small batches and you can tell. On their website, they mention that the vision in the early 2000s was to create a space for city-dwellers to “slow down and savor the nostalgia and taste of a secret 1920s doughnut recipe in a gorgeous vintage environment.” The flavor of their coffee strikes a perfect balance between boldness and sweetness—just the way I like it.
Not only do we have some pretty good things to say about Top Pot, but so do Barack Obama and Lena Dunham.
Lena shared a photo of her Top Pot order on Instagram, captioning it with, “You Seattleites were not effing around about Top Pot donuts #hottip #getinmybelly.” We couldn’t agree more. 😋
Plus, there’s a photo of Obama visiting framed in the store, and if the President says it’s good, he’s probably onto something. 🤷🏼
So, while we thoroughly enjoyed all the coffee stops during our trip, Top Pot takes the crown as our top choice. 💚
